Oak trees are symbols of wisdom, inner strength, knowledge and integrity. The oak can withstand almost anything and still thrive. In mythology the oak was seen as a portal to other worlds, and providing shade, medicinal properties and sturdy building materials. Its strong network of roots keep it grounded, while its branches explore above. If we are able to think of ourselves as the root system for our children, supporting them and keeping their hearts and souls nourished while they explore the world, we will be better able to let them flourish.
